Dantrell Hanson has been named as the 5 year old boy who died following a motorbike accident. He was believed to have been on his way to the nearby local primary school. Dantrell died at 12.45pm on Tuesday last week at Great Ormond Street Hospital, a day after the incident. The boy was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel after suffering serious head injuries. The motorbike driver, a 50-year-old man from Peckham, London suffered no injuries.

Dantrell was a pupil at Elfrida Primary School in Bellingham, Head Barbara Fitzsimmons said: "We are all absolutely devastated at the news of Dantrell's tragic death”, “He was a lovely child and will be sadly missed by everyone in the school".

This motorbike incident is under investigation by the police collision investigation unit. PC Simon Seely said "This was a very busy stretch of road at that time and there would have been a great deal of traffic as people were driving or taking the bus to work". Police have made no arrests so far. A postmortem has been held and an inquest will be arranged.
