Severe motorbike accident claim where solicitors had took the case on following the claimant's disatisfaction with her insurer's solicitors some 3.5 years post initial instructions:

Extract from Report from the Plastic Surgeon
As it is now four years since the date of the road traffic accident in which the claimant was involved, more than enough time has passed to allow
full maturation of the wounds on the right lower limb. These wounds will not now either improve or deteriorate and will be permanent. I do not believe that surgical intervention will improve the situation for her. The motorbike accident solicitors can report that the scars themselves have no impact whatsoever on her activities of daily living, social activities or employment. However, I believe that the claimant is suffering from Reflex Sympathy Dystrophy which is having a huge impact upon her activities of daily living, social activities and current and future employment. I would highly recommend that she seek an opinion from an expert in this field.

Conclusion

The history provided to me by the claimant is consistent with the wounds seen, treatment provided and subsequent time for healing of the wounds. I would not advocate any intervention in terms of scar revision. However, I believe the claimant to be suffering from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy of her right lower limb. I would recommend an expert in this field should see her with a view to improving her situation.

Motorbike claimant sustained an unfortunate accident which resulted in symptoms and signs of tenosynovitis of the extensor tendons of the right wrist and thumb. She has already made some marked improvement in symptoms and on the balance of probability she will make a full recovery in the next four to six months from the date of my examination she will need 10 to 15 sessions of hand therapy to help her with this. She also had symptoms of pain in the left wrist. This is soft tissue injury to the left wrist and she has made a full recovery in two weeks from the accident. The low back pain was a soft tissue injury and she made a full recovery in a week after the accident. The bruising in both knees also recovered after one to two weeks after the accident. The psychologist has noticed deterioration in her handwriting and coordination. In my professional opinion, this is psychological in origin. She would benefit from seeing a clinical psychologist to help her with this and I recommend a further report by the clinical psychologist on the prognosis of her psychological symptoms as this is outside my area of expertise.
